Liturgical Ministries
|
Eucharistic Minister: The
Eucharistic minister distributes God's Body and Blood to the faith community
under the form of Bread and Wine. Many individual's first response when
asked to be a Eucharistic Minister is "Oh no, not me, I could never".
Usually it is not an issue of competence, but more often, they do not
believe they are worthy.
Our faith tells us we were made whole by our baptism of being full
heirs with
Christ.
Who among us has the power to undo what God has done? True, we do need a
sense of humility about ourselves. Nevertheless, if we believe we are worthy
to receive Communion, we are then also worthy to be Ministers of Communion.
Maximum scheduled requirement
is twice a month.

proclaiming the Sacred Scriptures at the liturgy. As a Minister of
the Word of God, you do what
John
the Baptist did. You proclaim over and over, "Prepare the way for the Lord!"
Christ
is present in His word since it is He Himself who speaks when the Holy
Scriptures are read in Church.
As a lector, you are a servant of the Word of God. An individual is scheduled a maximum of once each month.

Greeter:
A warm
“hello” welcoming everyone to God’s house is so important to our faith
community. You have a chance to set the tone for the entire service. To send
a feeling to a person that they are welcome and we are glad they are
worshipping with us is the goal of a Greeter. It is also a wonderful way to
meet and converse with fellow parishioners. Greeters should arrive 20
minutes prior to Mass and stay at their assigned doors until the start of
Mass.
